Busy week and busy scrappin...

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July last week...we had a fun family gathering, lots of swimming and FOOD!  Here are a few shots from the day...

 

This has been a fun week of scrapbooking too!  Not only is Mon Ame Memories having their 1st Birthday Celebration...the July Kit is packed FULL of awesome goodies...take a look!

This is be perfect for scrappin all the 4th of July and vacation photos!!

Another favorite kit club of mine is Label Tulip  also celebrating their 2nd birthday with all kinds of fun challenges from their AWESOME Design Team.

Here are a few layouts I've been doing this past week...

 Another Tulip Girl Lift was from Leslie Ashe...I love her style!  I also incorporated a challenge over at Mon ame Memories with this layout...dusting off your punches!   The challenge was to incorporate at least 3 punches in your layout.

 Another fun challenge over at Label Tulip was all about cooking up your favorite sweet treats...this took me outside the box a little and actually made me scrap something OTHER than my kiddos.

I have to share really quick a great find from everyone's favorite store TARGET!!!  I picked this dress up for Maren and it totally reminded me the the color inspiration layout I just did last week!!!  So cute...I love Target! *sigh*

 

And lastly, I wanted to share the Pink Sketches reveal for the week!  It is sketch #38...

Also, this sketch will be my last on the DT for Pink Sketches.  I have SO enjoyed being on the team and meeting all the wonderfully talented designers.  Kelli thank you so much for all the wonderful inspiration!

I will still be continuing on the Inspired Blueprints sketch Design Team and focusing my time and energy creating for them and meeting all the new members that join on a daily basis!!!  Come check them out if you haven't already!!

This is coming to our city in the next few weeks and I would LOVE to go see it...

  Anyone else a fan???  I may have to "sweet talk" my hubby for this one!  Ha!

July 2nd Challenge at Mon Ame Memories...

Just a quick pop in to let you know that our "MAKE A WISH" Crop over at Mon Ame Memories is up and running!!!  This whole month of JULY there will be some type of challenge posted each day from the Design Team Ladies!

Today was my day and here it is!!!

Everyone is inspired by color! Whether it be in art, magazine ads, stores or online...color is everywhere! My challenge for you is to find you favorite AD that contains any of your favorite color combinations and create a layout based on those colors!!! Easy enough!

Mon Ame Memories and Pink Sketches Reveal...

So much to share this week...

First up ... Happy Birthday to Mon Ame Memories!!! We are turning ONE!!! We will be hosting a month long celebration "Make a Wish" Crop, starting July 1st...check in each day to see what's going on!  There will be challenges, games and prizes to win!!!

 This layout was inspired by the Kenny Chesney song "Summertime."  Mason absolutely LOVED this song and knew every word to it.  So I just had to scrap it and include the lyrics!

Inspired Blueprints Reveal...

  Just a quick post to reveal Sketch #24 over a Inspired Blueprints!  This month was my turn to do an

8 1/2 x 11 Layout and a Card.  I'm not much of a card designer, so it is always challenging yet fun to create something I don't typically do.

Hope to work on my new kit from Mon Ame Memories.  It is full of wonderful goodies! Should have some layouts to post by the end of the week. 

We are starting Vacation Bible School at our church this coming week.  I am teaching in Maren's 2 year old class and Mason will be with all the Kindergarten kiddos.  We have been listening to the music for the program all week and it is wonderful!!!  I love to look in my rear-view mirror and see the kids rocking out to the tunes!!!  Fun stuff!

Lots to share...

It has been a busy week around here!  We finished up the house remodeling, now all that is left are the baseboards...exciting stuff!   With a new look comes new decor right?  Well...my new love thanks to my neighbor Missy are roosters!!!  I thought I would never like them...to "country-like."  After shopping around I really have found some cute things I want to pick up.  My new favorite store is HomeGoods...has anyone been there?  OMG, it is full of cute accessories for your home, but totally discounted!  I found this cute little guy yesterday...I'm going for a "tuscan-chic" look I think!!!  I have a lot of space to fill above my cabinets, just taking it a section at a time.  I'm thinking of adding a platter or ceramic containers next to this...

Next we are working on our powder bathroom...new sink, new wall color, new light fixtures...this at least will not be as messy as the first project!  Mark already textured the walls and I painted it...now we just have to furnish it! 

I definitely have a new spark for decorating now. I was in a total runt when it comes to that.  Luckily, I have a few friends that are good at the whole decor thing and I can get lots of advice and help!  Keep ya posted!

Last week we also celebrated Maren's 2nd birthday!  We had a small party for her the night of her birthday with just a little cake for her to blow out the candles.  She loved it!

   

Sunday, we had a party with all of our family.  It was really nice and Maren got lots of girlie presents!! She also loved that fun zebra cake! You can't go wrong with red-velvet!!! Yum!

 

You can see she already sampled a little of the cake...who can blame her though!!!

Although she may be a little young, we got her a bike.  She obsessed over the neighbors bike and I couldn't get her off of it, so we thought we would go ahead and get her one to start learning how to peddle! 

On Wednesday we were hit with some pretty severe storms and tornados...pretty scary stuff!  Fences gone, trees uprooted and after all the remodeling inside our house, we now need a new ROOF!!!  Ugh!

After the storm was over that night and the next day it just rained and rained and poured!!!   With shingles missing on parts of the roof that did not make for a great situation for the ceilings inside!!!  We started to see water coming through the ceiling in the living room (where the new floors were just installed) and in the garage.  Luckily it DIDN'T leak and roofers came to put tarp up temporarily.  We are now waiting for the new roof and fence to be installed!!! ~ Never a dulled moment around here!!! 

Now onto the important things...Ha!

I used the pixie stix glitter from Pink Paislee in this layout to give the effect of water splashing. It was fun to play with and super easy!

Only one layout this week for scrappin'...it has been so crazy around here that I feel like I haven't scrapped in forever!  I am hoping to get my new kit soon from Mon Ame Memories and will have some more fun layouts to share!!

And lastly very excited about having a little "date night" on Friday with my hubby!  I think we will have a little sushi first and then head out to the AAC to see this guy...  

Love him!!!  So hilarious!!  I've only seen one other comedian in concert and that was Kathy Griffin...who cracks me up!!  She was awesome and I'm sure he will be too!!  We will be meeting up with my sissy and her husband and it should be a fabulous evening away from the kiddos!  I'm thinking a martini afterwards! Yum!

Happy 2nd Birthday Sweet Girl!!!!

 

I can't believe it has already been 2 years since my baby girl was born!  She is such a blessing in our lives and make us all laugh everyday!  Already at 2 she has learned that... 1.You can never have to many purses 2. The more shoes the better (her Target bling flip-flops are her favorite) and 3. Playing in Mommy's makeup is the best thing ever!!! I have created her own little makeup box because she always wants my makeup when I'm putting it on.  So I cleaned out my old brushes and gave her some to play with and that did it!!! She loved it!

 Since the house has been a mess the past month and we are FINALLY getting it back in order we are having her party this weekend...I have to share the cake I'm getting her for the party...how cute is this???

Almost there...

I wanted to share some layouts from this week and some construction progress!!!

This is another one done with the May kit from Mon Ame Memories.  I love this cardstock from Coredinations...awesome colors and fun because it has a different color on each side, so when you tear your paper you get another color to show off!

***Memaw's Potato Salad***

 

Maren was so funny on Easter Sunday...I thought for sure she wouldn't like potato salad...but boy did she prove me wrong!  She took a big spoonful and went to town!  It was so funny and um mm, um mm GOOD!!! Ha!

And we are counting down the hours till the house is done...they will be finishing up the floors and will need to put the island and granite back in place ~ boy I miss using that thing!  We are so pleased with the way it is turning out, definitely worth all the dust and chaos the last few weeks.  We love our house and have been here so long that we just couldn't bare to leave...so updating things is so nice and I'm really thankful that we are able to do it now.

 I wanted to update you on the Behm Family. I saw Michelle last week and she looked and sounded so good!  Rich is doing really well with his therapy and they are now building a ranch style home that will hopefully be completed before the boys go back to school in the fall.  She asked me to come with her to the Design Center to look at ALL the goodies you get to decide on and pick when you are building a new home.  Boy, did I forget how overwhelming that can be!!!  We had a really nice time and got a chance to catch up on how their life has changed.  She is so positive about the whole situation and is such an awesome mom!!  This house is such a blessing to their family...not only will it be built specifically for Rich's needs it is going to be beautiful!!  Michelle said the boys are so excited that they each will have their own bathroom area!!!  It's the little things right? Ha!

Lastly, on Friday I am hoping to go the the Scrapbook Convention that is here in the Dallas area ever year...that is if the construction is done!  It is a lot of fun and a great way to stock up on the goodies!!!

Construction, Baseball and Pink Sketches...Oh My!

We have had a busy weekend around here...we got away from the house renovation and headed to the ballfields where Mason had his last game.  He received his end of the year trophy after the game was over...that is the most important thing, right?   We were so proud of him and really amazed at how far he has come from his T-ball days...here are a few shots from the last game with the Sidewinders.  He played pitcher today...notice his new sun guards from the Rangers game on Friday...he just had to wear them!

Construction update:

The kitchen is ALMOST finished.  Jose and his crew will be finishing up on Monday and hopefully the rest of the hardwoods will be completed next week.  Everything is starting to come together...but honestly the chaos of the house is making us all a little WACKO!  When you are basically using your bathroom as your kitchen it gets a little old but will be well worth the mess! :)

 

Next up is the Pink Sketches reveal for this week!  it is sketch #35.  Most of the supplies I used on this layout are from the Basic Grey Offbeat Line...

While the boys were at the Ranger game on Friday, Maren and I spent  a little time outside practicing our bubble blowing.  She got the hang of it pretty quickly...now if I can just get her to move it away from her mouth a little! So cute!

I also created another layout using the May kit from Mon Ame Memories.  The photos are a little dark and probably should have been black and white but I thought it turned out cute.

 

 

 

 

Lastly, Mason, Daddy and Duke broke the pool in this weekend.  Summer is upon us and it is going to be a BUSY one!

Some Progress...

With the tear out behind us they started working on the floors this week and hope to be done by Saturday...keep your fingers crossed!  I'm really happy so far, other than trying to keep the kids occupied and away from the mess it hasn't been too bad!  Lots and lotsof dust everywhere!

The kitchen cabinets doors and drawers were refaced today and the kitchen island will be ripped out tommorow to make room for a newly built "furniture" style piece.  This is the one that I am most excited about seeing! It is going to have a rustic black finish with the kitchen cabinets having a "tea stain."  Painting will start next week hopefully and we should prepare for the  "strong fumes" ahead!!! (cough, cough!)  Maybe a hotel stay somewhere would be nice, huh?
